Started in 1977, by Leo Jacobsen, Jacobsen Incorporated of Adair began operations in downtown Adair.  Moving to a new facility on the west edge of Adair in 1979, Jacobsen’s quickly became known throughout southwest Iowa as a main supplier for wholesale plumbing and heating contractors.  The company was purchased in 1988 by Charlie Schafer and Bill Schafer with Kurk Mackrill as the general manager.  In 1990, Jacobsen Inc. published their first catalog and began shipping plumbing supplies nationwide. Kurk, along with his wife, Linda, purchased the company from Charlie and Bill in 1998.   The addition of a showroom in 2010 has allowed Jacobsen’s to expand our inventory of faucets, cabinets, vanities, vanity tops, bath tubs and shower units.  In September of 2012, Jacobsen Inc. launched a new web site featuring their great low prices and secure online ordering.
